Privacy

What we keep about you, why we keep it, who else touches it, and how to have it all deleted.

Who holds your data

Hookprint is run by Kaleido Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17516332, whose registered office is at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, and that company decides how the data described here is used.

Write to support@gethookprint.com about anything on this page, including a copy of your data or an objection to how it is used.

What we keep, and why

  • Your email address and name. To sign you in, send password resets and receipts, and answer support.
  • The photos you upload, downscaled on your phone before they reach us. To make your chart; the small copy is kept so you can resize or re-edit the chart later.
  • Your charts, their yarn palettes and your stitch edits. So your work is there when you come back, on any device.
  • A count of conversions per month and what you bought. To enforce the free plan's monthly cap and honour a purchase.
  • Which core actions your account used (upload, chart finished, export), as first-party counts. To see whether the product works; totals only, no third-party analytics.

Where it lives

Amazon Web Services, United States (the product's own Postgres database).

How long we keep it

Kept while your account exists and deleted with it. Captured email previews and first-party usage events are pruned on a rolling basis.

Deleting it

Settings > Delete my account removes your account, photos, charts, palettes, usage and purchase records at once; any Stripe subscription is cancelled first.

Who else touches it

  • Stripe. Takes card payments; we never see your card number.
  • Anthropic. Looks at the small copy of your photo once per conversion to find the subject to chart and the background colours to flatten.
  • Amazon Web Services. Hosts the product, its database and its email sending.

What is not in place yet

We would rather name the gaps than imply there are none.

  • No SOC 2, ISO 27001 or similar certification.
  • No uptime commitment or SLA.
  • No two-factor authentication yet.
  • Photos are stored in the main database, not in a separately encrypted store.

Email you can turn off

We send the mail your account needs: a password reset, a receipt, a note about your plan. Any other message carries an unsubscribe link, and we stop sending as soon as you use it.

How to reach us
